Adelaide Canoe Club organises special events throughout the year that are either open to members of other clubs, or other paddlers. Check the list below for information about either previous events or those upcoming in the calendar.

• Torrens Island Race — 16 km race for sea kayaks, tandem sea kayaks, surf skis, ocean skis and outrigger canoes over 4.5 meters in length. Participants must have paddled in open water on the ocean and can complete a 16km paddle. Other craft may be considered if fitted with fixed internal buoyancy and considered safe for the expected conditions. The race runs anti-clockwise from the Garden Island boat ramp, towards St Kilda, through the channel known as “the cutting”, returning down the Port River, under the Torrens Island road bridge and back to the Garden Island boat ramp. Safety boats will patrol the participants during the event.
